Traditional Fitted Kitchen, Asfordby
Dust Grey Traditional Fitted Kitchen in Asfordby.
With a young family and the family pet (Ralph the Border Collie) our clients brief was to provide a traditional kitchen that was hard wearing but still gave a warm, homely feeling.
The new kitchen was to be fitted in a large extension which had plenty of natural daylight as the extension had 3 velux roof lights ,double patio doors plus the dining area also had a set of double patio doors.
As the floor needed to be durable, hard wearing and easy to clean a planked oak effect luxury vinyl tile (LVT) was fitted giving a contrast to the dust grey kitchen doors and kept the traditional feel to the room.
To keep with the traditional fitted kitchen look it was decided to install 40mm thick oak worktops and with 20mm x 100mm high oak upstands. ( The Leicester Kitchen Co. treated the worktops and upstands with 3 coats of Danish Oil prior to fitting.)
A belfast sink from Villeroy & Boch complemented the oak worktops which our fitter (Graham) routed the drainer grooves onsite.
We built the kitchen units from 18mm Egger Natural Lancaster Oak which were in keeping with the theme of this traditional kitchen and provided a stunning contrast to the doors.
The curved radius units on both the wall and base units softened the ends of the run of units and gave a modern twist the the kitchen design.
A black 5 burner gas range and cooker hood gave a real dark contrast to the kitchen and provided all the cooking needs of a young family.
A integrated 70/30 fridge freezer plus integrated dishwasher completed all the appliance needs and with open shelves, glass door display units and a tall wine rack this traditional kitchen was complete.
